12.26.03 - Prosetta's CEO Tom Higgins signs an in-licensing agreement with UC for intellectual property discovered in the academic labs of Prosetta's founder, Vishwanth Lingappa MD PhD. The agreement includes the University of Washington, University of Dusseldorf, Germany and the CDC, where Dr. Lingappa's collaborator's performed some of their research. Dr. Lingappa was a tenured professor at UCSF for over 20 years. Dr. Lingappa and his colleagues made a number of discoveries which led to two new platforms for drug discovery, an antiviral platform and a bioconformatics platform.
