of Physiology and Medicine at the University of California San
Francisco,
Dr. Lingappa is Prosetta’s principal founder and the
main inventor of the patented discoveries that form the basis
of our
science. Dr. Lingappa
holds
a BA with high honors from Swarthmore College, a PhD in
Cell Biology
from The Rockefeller University in New York, where he studied
under Nobel Laureate Günter Blobel, and an MD from Weill
Medical College
at Cornell University.
Michael Farmer, MBA
President and Co-CEO
Most recently Michael Farmer served as President and CEO of a biotech startup, HandyLab, where he pulled together the management team, $5.2 million in venture
capital and several NIH, CDC and DOD R&D grants and contracts.
Previously, Farmer was COO of Veridian, one of the world’s most
advanced cyber security companies with annual revenues of over $800
million. He was the managing partner in Wind River Group, a healthcare
and energy consulting firm. Earlier he served as
President and CEO of Infotronics and COO of its parent, American Medical
Communications.
Farmer previously was COO of the Hospital Satellite
Network (HSN). As Executive Vice President of Harbridge House,
Farmer headed up the firm’s national health care practice and
defense practice. He earned a BS in engineering
and an MBA and worked for the Defense Department as an engineer doing
classified work for 10 years.
Clarence "Ray" Hurt, PhD
Director of Chemistry
Clarence R. Hurt recently joined Prosetta Bioconformatics as the director of chemistry and he brings over 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. After completing a post-doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley, he joined the Small Molecule Drug Discovery group at Amgen in Thousand Oaks, California as a research scientist. Since then, he has served in positions of increasing responsibility at Pfizer and with his most recent position as principal scientist at ChemoCentryx. Dr. Hurt holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from Haverford College.
